It's SPRING!

Some 30+ years ago, my aunt died and at her funeral many of us took her iris bulbs to plant in our gardens.  I'm no gardener, but I did plant them around this tree in front of our house and we get 2-3 blooms every year (and lots of leaves that don't bloom).  This year we have a dozen or more bulbs that are coming to bloom and it's just great.  Must be because of all the rain we had this winter.  (Wow--how many years has it been since I wrote "all the rain we've had"???)

Also I've been watching our apple tree, which has remained "dead" while all the other trees in town are blossoming.  But suddenly the tree has leafed out and is covered with blossoms.

With the warmer weather the squirrels have started playing again, chasing each other around the back yard.  Drives Bubbles crazy.  He sits in my office with his nose out the dog door, hoping one of the squirrels will come close enough that he can chase it, but of course they are faster than he is and by the time he is out the dog door, they are up a tree.  He desperately wants to learn how to climb a tree.
