The 49ers

What a game it was yesterday.  I have to admit that if the Lions were playing anybody else but the 49ers, I would have been rooting for them.  But it was the 49ers and the winner would be going to the Superbowl.  Ned made clam dip for us to eat while watching the game.  It was such fun....the whole family was watching the game, us in Davis, Tom and family + Walt's sister and her husband in Santa Barbara, Walt's brother and his wife in Petaluma, and Jeri & Phil in Boston.  We spent the whole afternoon sending text messages, as first the 9ers had a terrible first half and ultimately won in the second half.  I decided to make a transcript of our text messages:

TOM:  (Before the game)

JERI:

BEV:    Harrumph

OLIVIA:  C'MON DEFENSE!!!  Have Faith!

BEV: (after the 9ers were down  2 touchdowns)  Still have faith?

OLIVIA:  Dwindling

BEV: (after the 9ers started bouncing back)  OK.  Your faith was rewarded.

OLIVIA:  Feeling better.

LACIE:

OLIVIA:  WOO HOO!

ALICE NAN:  Still too close for me.  Can't relax

LACIE:  GOOO NINERS!!!!!!!

BEV:  This is like the last game

LACIE:  Yeah.

JERI:

BEV:  You can't say 9er games are dull!

LACIE:  You sure can't.  WE'RE GOING TO THE SUPER BOWL!!!

JERI:

OLIVIA: SUPERBOWL BABY!!!

LACIE:

WOOOHOOO!!!

ALICE NAN:  Love these photos.  Vegas here we come.

( notice that none of the men participated in this exchange...they were too busy actually watching the GAME!)
