Sticky Buns

I get messages all the time from companies from whom I have ordered something.  I get a message saying that they will let me know when they have sent it, then they send a message saying it's been sent and when to expect it, then they send a message saying that it will be delivered tomorrow, and ultimately they send a message saying it's been delivered.  Usually these messages come with a picture of the item that is being delivered.

So I was surprised to get a message from a company just called "Flour" that my package was coming.  There was nothing to indicate what was in the package, but I got the usual "it's being packaged, it's shipped, it will be coming..." messages.  I figured it was some kind of a scam but I couldn't figure out what information they were trying to get.

Finally the "Flour" package arrived and voila!  It was a package of sticky buns from Jeri.  Flour is a bakery near where she works and they are famous for these "sticky, sticky buns."

The instructions for how to cook them were perfect for me.  You put the sticky syrup in a pan and then add the frozen buns and let it thaw overnight in the refrigerator, for 5 hours.  Then you remove the pan from the refrigerator, put it in a warm place and let it rise for 2-5 hours.  If you want to have these for breakfast (and they say they are best served warm), it's kind of difficult.

But with my sleep habits, it's perfect.  I put the buns in the refrigerator at 10 p.m. and when I woke up 4 hours later, I took them and put them on the stove to rise.  When I woke up, they were almost ready to be baked.  I just had to let them rise another hour, but I was able to get them in the oven by 8 a.m.

They were delicious!
