Today is my brother-in-law's 81st birthday. Ned decided we should drive to Petaluma (about 80 miles) for lunch. What a beautiful day! It's the time of year when all the hills are green...soon they will all be brown until winter. There were beautiful yellow fields of mustard, and wild flowers here and there.
The weather was perfect and we had a lovely lunch outside. Olivia had sent around the menu of a sandwich place and we chose our sandwiches and she had them ready for us. They were so big that we will be having half of them for dinner.
Ned and Norm have such a great time when they are together.
Olivia ordered a Baskin Robbins pie for dessert, which was delicious. We left a bit late, so didn't miss rush hour traffic, but once we were able to turn off of the main freeway onto a different one to take us to the town of Winters and from there to Davis, there was no traffic whatever.
We were home by 5, in time for feeding Bubba, and I have such a good feeling about the day.
