The Big BBQ

The morning was spent getting ready to take stuff to the beach.  I felt my job was to stay out of the way, since I can't carry anything and my walker seems to be n everyone's way.  Ned and I agreed that when things were arranged at the beach, he'd come and pick me up.

It was a perfect day.  Temps were in the mid to high 70s (and it was 112 in Davis).  There were lots of hors d'oeuvres.  I liked this picture because it has stuffed eggs (that I made), bread dip (that Ned made) and clam dip (that Lacie made.

Lacie and Tom's friend Lance played many games of cribbage.

Tom and Joe worked all afternoon cooking the meats while guests wandered in.

We filled two long tables with eaters.

Lacie had made birthday cupcakes for her dad.

When the eating was over, Tom and Joe got out the guitars (sadly, Ned had a sore wrist and couldn't play)

Tom brought me to tears when he played "Funny" for me (the song for which Funny the World is named)

It got chilly when the sun went down, but the park closed at 8:15 and it was 8:05 when we were leaving, so it was a long, full day, but such a perfect one.
